The About.com Nonprofit blog looks at the $10 mil in unsolicited gifts made to the Gates Foundation by individuals. They note that they "raised" $10 mil without doing any of the things nonprofits are told to do to raise money.

Lucy Bernholz seems to "get" the future of philanthropy better than anyone I know. She's the kind of person who is always looking around the next corner.
