I almost spit out my morning coffee when Mark Phillips explained what he meant by "mushrooms". His point about younger donors favoring charity rating systems because they don't have decades of charitable gifts to justify to themselves is very good. How do we overcome the "cognitive dissonance" of donors wanting to support effective nonprofits, while not wanting to know that some of the groups they support are no good?
