  • With the auto industry imploding during the last decade, Michigan was hit much worse than the rest of the country during the recession. This analysis shows that nonprofits were the job creation engine that helped keep the state afloat. This is a helpful suggestion and points out the counter intuitive, but extremely important issue that Saundra is working to raise. Philanthropy can do harm and donors must work to be sure that at a minimum, their giving does no harm.
