  • Brad Smith writes on the GOOG/Jumo deal and focuses on the fact that the for-profit GOOD is buying the nonprofit Jumo. While this sort of transaction may be rare, there’s nothing legally wrong with it as long as they do it right. The Jumo assets just have to be used for charitable purposes.

    Who knows, maybe Jumo will be positioned to have more social impact under the GOOD brand and the foundation grants that seeded the company will have more impact.
