Andrew Sorkin of the New York Times writes about Steve Jobs philanthropy, or lack thereof. Does Jobs really not give any money to charity? His wife is on the board of both Teach for America and New Schools Venture Fund, yet the Jobs aren’t listed as donors to either organization. Maybe Jobs is really the Chuck Feeney (famously anonymous donor) of the new millennium?

The UK is moving forward to expand their use of Social Impact Bonds. I continue to think that while the “devil is in the details” (as is said in the article), Social Impact Bonds are the most exciting initiative going on in the social capital markets.

Now the Burning Man festival (during which all commerce is banned and a sharing economy is created) is switching from a for-profit to a nonprofit. The search for the best tax status is important.
