I’ve long thought that Warren Buffett’s approach to investing would work very well in a nonprofit context. However, the Gates Foundation deploys a very different strategy than I think can be extrapolated from Buffett’s writing on investment strategy. So it will be interesting to watch 27-year-old Howard Buffett’s efforts to apply the philosophy of his grandfather.
